Nelson Oyarzúa nació en Lota el 15 de marzo de 1977. Estudió Pedagogía en Español en la Universidad de Concepción y luego, junto a su trabajo como profesor, escribió textos teatrales que ganaron diferentes premios a nivel nacional. Entre los años 2003 y 2005 estudió dirección de cine en la EICTV de San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, donde dirigió diferentes cortos, tanto de ficción como documental.

Nelson Oyarzúa was born in Lota on March 15th in 1977. He studied pedagogics at the University de Concepción and later after working as a teacher, he wrote theater plays that won several national awards. Between 2003 and 2005 he studied direction at the EICTV de San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, where he had the opportunity to direct various short films, fiction as well as documentaries.
